Why is Website Optimization so Important? First of all let me define my definition of website optimization. Website optimization is the integration of search engine optimization with consumer website usability. What does that mean? You probably came to this website looking for search engine optimization advice, and that is what I plan to give you, however often times people focus so much on the search engine optimization part, they forget about their visitors. Website Optimization is important because it maximizes your exposure to your targeted audience and gives your audience a well written, easily navigated website. Let’s say your website ranks within the top 5 organic results on Google. You probably have quite a bit of traffic right? How about conversions though? Are you getting leads from your website? Is your information easy to find? The answer may unfortunately be no. You must remember that your website is speaking to a certain audience. Your audience is not only the search engines, but your visitors as well. What is the very first thing that catches your eye when you are looking at the home page of this webiste: www.alphawebfx.com. I would hope you say either the 3 boxes with text or the banner at the top of the page. That is where I want people to go first, it is the most important part of the website. There have been many studies done on how people search for information on the internet. One good graphical study here, shows that people search for a website in an “F” shape. They look at the top and on the side, then read a few more lines on the page. So it would make sense then to put the most important information at the top of the body of the page and on the left side. If you have your website broken up into categories, you may want to write a sentence about the link they are about to go to next to the link. Additionally this adds text to the page helping with your search engine optimization efforts. n the other articles on this website, I will show you how to target your audience and optimize your website for the search engines.
